Meirav served for two years in the IDF (Israel Defense Force) as a Physical Trainer-Combat Support, in an elite paratroopers unit, where she met her husband Dotan, a fellow soldier. Following her military service, Meirav pursued her undergraduate degree in Interior Architecture in Israel. Her graduate thesis topic focused on design for mental health, with the emphasis on the effects of the designed environment on people with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). While combining both passions - the topic of mental health and adaptive re-use, Meirav’s thesis project included a design for transforming a historic Yarn Mill into a Trauma and PTSD center. As Meirav continues to do research in the field of design for healthcare, she has a strong relationship with the Spartanburg Area of Mental Health and has collaborated with them on various projects. She has experience working in community outreach. Has worked with Archway Partnership, at the University of Georgia, redesigning Adaptive reuse buildings, taking place in Sumter County, Washington County, and Grady County. While Meirav has a true Passion towards multidisciplinary collaboration and outreach, she enjoys watercolor painting and being a mom to two kids.
